Barbara Laner

Barbara “Barbie” Laner of Paxinos, passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 82 on December 29, 2025. She was born December 11, 1943 at Shamokin Hospital, the daughter of the late William Girardi and Helen (Kampus) Girardi.

She had a passion for bingo, casino trips, puzzles, singing while doing house work or in the car, along with her classic one liners.

She is survived by her devoted spouse of 57years Francis “Frank” Laner. Her daughter Michelle King and her husband Joe, son in law Larry Shepard, and her only remaining sibling Patricia "Pat" Roney. She also leaves behind 5 grandchildren Nathan Galvan, Nicole Calvillo, Brett Shepard, Brandon Shepard, and Peter “PJ” Galvan. Her great grandchildren Diana Galvan, Cristiano Calvillo, Brooklyn Galvan. As well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Tracy Shepard in 2021, her sister Caroline Girardi, brothers Robert ‘Bobby’ Girardi, Micheal Girardi and Micheal ‘Mickey’ Girardi.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the family home at a later date. The family respectfully requesting no flowers.
