Obituary for Harry Rathosky
Harry Joseph Rathosky, 68, originally of Mount Carmel, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at West Florida Hospital in Pensacola, FL after a struggle with illness.
He was born on July 11, 1949 to the late Anthony and Sarah (Schaeffer) Rathosky and was a graduate of Mount Carmel High School.
Harry served in the United States Army Reserves in Lewisburg, PA until his discharge in 1974. He worked for Pennsylvania Power & Light (PPL) for 44 years in the field and as a plant equipment operator in both Shamokin Dam, PA and Washingtonville, PA, where his friends and coworkers gave him the nickname “Harry the Hat.” He retired in 2014 to enjoy the warm Florida sunshine. He was a longtime member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers AFL-CIO and enjoyed spending time eating out with the ROMEO Club. He was so loved and will be missed by so many.
Harry is survived by his partner, Honora Carter of Pensacola, FL; his son and daughter, Philip Rathosky of Lansdale, PA and Megan Rathosky of Mount Carmel, PA; a sister, Florence Erney of Mount Carmel, PA, and two brothers, Elmer Rathosky of Lawrenceville, GA and James Rathosky of Mount Carmel, PA, in addition to several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 17 at 11:00 AM at Grace United Church of Christ, Third and Market Streets, in Mount Carmel, PA . Rev. Joan Brown will officiate.
